Trump Launches GSP Country Reviews of Key Travel Goods Suppliers
Last week, the Trump administration announced that it accepted a petition to review Thailand’s eligibility to receive duty benefits under the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) program. The Thailand review will be added to ongoing GSP reviews already announced for India and Indonesia. All three countries are major suppliers of travel goods to the U.S. market under the GSP program. Under GSP, U.S. imports of travel goods can enter duty-free from eligible countries under flexible rules of origin. TGA will likely comment on the country reviews. Please contact TGA’s Nate Herman at email@example.com if you are importing from one of these countries.
