New California Proposition 65 Notices

April 29, 2015 – New “60-day” notices have been issued alleging that brands and retailers sold totes, pouches, laptop sleeves, backpacks, shoulder bags and luggage made with leather, vinyl or imitation leather material (Notice 1) and other products that contained lead and Diisononyl phthalate (DINP) in violation of a California law known as Proposition 65 (Prop 65). The notices serve as intent to bring a lawsuit against the recipients that sold these products. TGA has included these notices in the TGA Prop 65 “60 Day Notice” running list. TGA will continue to update this list on a regular basis to help catalog the effects of this law on the travel goods industry. For more information on Prop 65, contact TGA’s Nate Herman, 703-797-9062.
