California Proposes to Update Proposition 65 Lead Safe Harbor Levels
August 12, 2015 – The California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) has initiated a rulemaking to update the existing maximum allowable dose level (MADL), or safe harbor level, for lead under Proposition 65. The agency’s decision follows a petition by the Center for Environmental Health to repeal or amend Proposition 65 regulations relating to the MADL for lead. The proposal could impact previous Prop 65 settlements regarding lead. TGA will oppose the proposed rule.
