TGA Urges U.S. Senate to Confirm U.S. Trade Representative

On May 8, TGA joined with dozens of other companies and organizations in sending a letter urging the U.S. Senate to confirm Robert Lighthizer as the next U.S. Trade Representative (USTR). In addition to being the lead U.S. government negotiator for trade agreements and other trade issues, the new USTR will make the final decision on whether to make U.S. imports of travel goods from all Generalized System of Preferences (GSP)-eligible countries duty-free.
