Product safety — 34 more California Proposition 65 notices issued

Thirty-four new "60-day" notices were filed, alleging that brands and retailers sold tote bags (Notice 1), handbags (Notice 1; Notice 2; Notice 3; Notice 4), cosmetic and toiletries cases (Notice 1; Notice 2; Notice 3; Notice 4), footwear (Notice 1; Notice 2; Notice 3; Notice 4; Notice 5), gloves (Notice 1), jewelry (Notice 1; Notice 2), and belts (Notice 1; Notice 2; Notice 3; Notice 4; Notice 5; Notice 6; Notice 7; Notice 8; Notice 9; Notice 10; Notice 11; Notice 12; Notice 13; Notice 14; Notice 15; Notice 16; Notice 17) in California that contained phthalates, lead and cadmium in violation of California Proposition 65 (Prop 65). TGA has included these notices, along with every other travel goods and other fashion-related notice for the past three years, in the TGA Prop 65 "60 Day Notice" running list. TGA will continue to update this list on a regular basis to help catalog the effects of Prop 65 on the travel goods industry. For more information on Prop 65, please go to the Prop 65 page on the TGA website or contact TGA's Nate Herman at 703-797-9062.
